BRENTWOOD, Tenn. — Heading into the bye week, the Tennessee State football team is off to its best start since last season. The Tigers sit at 6-2, with the bulk of the schedule ahead in November, including four Big South-OVC matchups. In their final game of October, TSU spoiled Howard’s homecoming, winning 27-14 at Greene Stadium. For their efforts, kick returner and running back CJ Evans was named the alliance’s Special Teams Player of the Week, while Sanders Ellis moved closer to the top rookie postseason award with his third Freshman of the Week honor.
